Binance’s Monitoring Tags: What You Need to Know
Tokens with the Monitoring Tag exhibit significantly higher volatility and risk than other tokens on Binance. Binance closely monitors these tokens and may delist them if they fail to meet its criteria. Users can find the Monitoring Tags on the Binance Spot and Binance Margin trading pages, as well as on the Markets Overview page. Additionally, Binance displays a risk warning banner for all tokens carrying the Monitoring Tag.
For users wanting to gain trading access to tokens with a Monitoring Tag, they have to strictly obey the following requirements: (i) pass a quiz every 90 days on Binance Spot/Binance Margin and (ii) accept Binance’s terms of use. The quizzes are designed to ensure that users fully understand the risks before trading tokens with the Monitoring Tag.
Binance evaluates several key aspects before assigning or removing a Monitoring Tag frequently, including:
- The team’s commitment to the project
- Development activity and its quality
- Trading volume and liquidity
- Network stability and security against attacks
- Smart contract reliability
- Transparency and public communication
- Response to Binance’s periodic due diligence requests
- Evidence of unethical or fraudulent behavior
- Contribution to a healthy and sustainable crypto ecosystem
Starting March 4, 2025, Binance will adjust the Monitoring Tag review process to a monthly cycle based on community feedback. Binance will add new projects in the first week of each month, while they will continue to review Monitoring Tag and Seed Tag removals quarterly.
The Monitoring Tag is applied to high-risk tokens that face a greater chance of delisting if they do not meet Binance’s standards. Please trade responsibly and stay informed.
